| Posted 3 months ago because I have been called it for about 2 1/2 years and got tired of disagreeing. It annoys me, the stereotypes, so I just agree. |

| Posted 3 months ago that's unfortunate. don't just give in like that... i'm sure you don't want to be stereotyped instantly, but that's what happens when you introduce yourself as an emo. if they think you are after they get to know you, then at least they got to know you. but don't say it right away, because a lot of people think that emo is bad. |

| Posted 2 months ago Well I don't say "Hi I'm Em and I'm emo" when I meet people it's just that most people stereotype and that's what they're asking when they want to know what kind of person you are--usually--they want your stereotype. You don't seem like that kind of person, but I know a lot of them. It's not that I want to be called 'emo' every step I take it's just that ya know I've gotten tired of explaining "No, I'm not completely emo I have a life outside of my clothes." It just gets old after a few months and I just kind of gave up correcting everyone because I've learned that people seldom change without a brush with death and we, as humans, are a pathetic race(no offense). So, I introduce myself as emo because of the effing clothing stereorypes. I wear the color black often, yes, I wear skinny jeans in crazy colors, yes, and I have at least one red and black hoodie, yes. Does that mean I HAVE to cut myself up with whatever I can get my hands on? Another reason people call me emo is because of the music I listen to. Where I used to live, Panic(!) and Fall Out Boy were considered 'Emo' music. Along with MyChem, Avenged Sevenfold, Paramore, and other ALTERNATIVE, not EMO, but alternative bands. I had a close circle of friends that probably contributed to that label, and I was the quiet and shy type that liked to read and sit and a corner and be left alone for a little bit. I have carried the 'emo' style, but I do wear other stuff as well such as polos and shorts and capris. I've just gotten used to being one of the 'Emo' kids in class so that's what I say when people ask. I'm usually a very happy person actually, but we just moved across the country and I have to live here for almost a year. THAT makes me sad, but I'm not gonna kill myself unless something really bad happens. For that reason, I am not emo. HOWEVER, it is my label and what I am called. That last bit probably makes no sense. |

| Posted 8 days ago Hi! I am a chipmunk...just kidding. I am...it's hard to decide because who I am, depends on who I am with. I'm shy in large groups of people or with people I don't know. I am really outgoing and funny with my friends and family. I am smart. I get good grades in school, but I'm a major procrastinator. I love music, sports, reading, and movies. I also feel misunderstood, but I think that's my own fault. I think because I'm shy around new people I can sometimes seem snobbish to them. They see me laughing and talking a lot with my friends and then I seem to ignore this person I don't know, and its not that I'm snobby, I just get nervous about initiating a conversation with someone I don't know. I also hide my true emotions as a defense mechanism, which can cause me to be misunderstood. But honestly, I'd rather feel misunderstood than vulnerable. I don't feel vulnerable very often because I am a strong person, laid-back and easygoing, but strong nonetheless. I love to play soccer. I never feel vulnerable on a soccer field. I always have complete confidence in my abilities, and that's a great feeling. In a world where there are so many uncertainties, so many fears, it's great to have one place that I can go and know that life isn't as complicated as it may seem sometimes. I hope everyone has a place like that. Well, now you know a little bit about me whether you wanted to or not. |
