OXYGEN AND TICKLE.COM TEAM UP FOR ON-LINE QUIZ
Cross Promotional Campaign to Highlight Oxygen's "Talk Sex with Sue Johanson" and Tickle's New Sex Knowledge Quiz
NEW YORK, November 30, 2004 Oxygen, 24-hour cable television network that puts a fresh spin on television for women, and Tickle Inc. (www.tickle.com), a leading diversified digital media company, focused on delivering interpersonal content and services (self-discovery, matchmaking, career and social networking) to more than 14 million active members worldwide, have teamed-up for the first time to converge television and Internet content beginning this month. Leveraging Tickle's leading interpersonal and networking services and Oxygen's young, hip programming, the two media companies kick-off a partnership with a sex quiz - deciphering the test takers' level of knowledge in sex and sexuality.
Curious web users will get a chance to see if they truly are "sexperts" when Tickle features a sex knowledge quiz provided by renowned sex educator Sue Johanson, the host of Oxygen's wildly popular live call-in show "Talk Sex with Sue Johanson."
Oxygen will use both Oxygen.com and its Sunday evening weekly live show "Talk Sex with Sue Johanson to promote the quiz. Tickle will promote the quiz on its homepage.
"What better way to further reach Oxygen's young female audience than with Tickle?" says Geraldine Laybourne, Oxygen CEO and Chairman. "This is just the kind of fun and informative activity we like to provide for our viewers and online users. Working with Tickle allows us to customize content for our viewers - giving them information about themselves that entertains and informs. This partnership marks the first step in strategizing innovative online partnerships for Oxygen -- bridging the gap between on-air and online entertainment."
"We're thrilled to be working with Oxygen. Many of Tickle's users are smack in the middle of Oxygen's target audience and we share a philosophy of driving a smart, fun, authentic and interactive relationship with our users," says James Currier, Chairman and CEO of Tickle."
Now in its third season, "Talk Sex with Sue Johanson" airs live on Oxygen Sunday nights at 11 p.m. (ET). "Talk Sex" offers helpful guidance to callers on the sometimes uncomfortable topics of love, relationships and sex. The one-hour series tackles all aspects of sexuality in an informative, non-judgmental and humorous way as she provides insights on revitalizing one's sex life and the latest information on sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and sexual disorders.
