Holiday Party Hook-Ups: Survey Shows 44 Percent Want to Have Sex with Significant Other at Company Party - 15 Percent Actually Have
More are Naughty than Nice in Tickle Inc.'s Annual Holiday Survey

San Francisco — December 2, 2004 - Merry mischief and Yuletide excess are front and center in Tickle Inc.'s annual Naughty or Nice holiday survey conducted by the Tickle Research Group. Led by Tickle's in-house psychologist Dr. Jennifer Bruning Brown, the survey exposes some questionable holiday behavior as well as serious issues such as depression, overeating and alcohol use.

"In my experience as a practicing psychologist, I have seen first hand how the holiday season brings about a wide range of emotions and behaviors," said Dr. Bruning Brown. "For some it means an extra glass of wine, a festive fling or an embarrassing move on the dance floor, for others it means an unhealthy reliance on food or alcohol, overwhelming stress in relationships or loneliness and depression."

Tickle's survey sheds light on the holiday spirit and whether Americans are more likely to be on Santa's naughty or nice list.

Of those surveyed, findings include:

'Tis the season for the holiday party
• Sex with your significant other at a company holiday party? Yes please! 15 percent of survey takers have had sex with their significant other at least once and 44 percent haven't, but would like to.
• Company holiday parties are a time to mingle with co-workers, and for 29 percent, it's also a time for embarrassing moments. Specifically, 20 percent drank too much, 12 percent were a little too wild on the dance floor and 7.4 percent made out with a co-worker.
• Holiday parties are also the place to find your true love, or at least a lusty fling. Of those surveyed, 47 percent found love or lust at a holiday party.
• Whether it's love or lust, 29 percent have had a one night stand following a holiday party at least once. Of those remaining, 28 percent said that they have yet to participate in such after party festivities, but would definitely like to.

Under the mistletoe:
• It's the time of year to spread the holiday cheer. Of those surveyed, 24 percent have more sex around the holidays and only 4 percent have less sex.
• The holidays are better spent with a significant other. 80 percent prefer having a girlfriend or boyfriend for the holidays.

Stormy weather
• For some, the holidays are a difficult time of year. 32 percent of survey takers said they feel significantly or slightly more lonely or depressed around the holidays.
• For some, eating and drinking are a big part of the holiday celebration. During the holidays 33 percent drink more during the holidays and 41.2 percent have felt guilty at some point about the amount they ate.
• Over eating is how 15 percent deal with holiday stress and 12 percent drink alcohol.
