We've all had the experience of losing touch with someone who could have been important to us. Perhaps it was someone we considered a friend, or someone we were attracted to, or someone who could help us further our careers.

But we didn't do a good job of staying in touch with them, and now we don't know where to find them.

We all spend a lot of time trying to track people down and keeping our address books up to date. What's worse, despite our best efforts, these great relationships often just melt away as we get wrapped up in new chapters of our busy lives.

We're tired of it being this way, and that's why we're building Ringo.

We looked around and felt like no online service was fulfilling the Web's potential to revolutionize the way we keep in touch with the many great people in our lives. So we're starting Ringo as an experiment to explore ways of doing that, once and for all. In developing the service, we have leaned on many great ideas from other sites, and we hope that for our part, we'll be able to contribute a few good ideas to the collective creative.
